Please see note pasted below from Syma, Head of Technical Services on an issue dealing with HPL book CDs and Music CDS:
Many of our older books on CD and most of our music CDs have 3M security overlays. Please be aware that leaving these items in a car on these extraordinarily hot days can cause the overlays to start buckling. This can result in the CD getting caught in the player. You may want to post a sign to alert customers about this issue.
Please assign staff or volunteers to go through your unabridged audiobooks. If you find any that have problems with the security overlays, please change their status to “repair” and send in to COMS, Attn: Marianne Lorio. Marianne will attempt to replace any of the damaged discs.
